Micah — Hope that your day has been great. You probably already know that the Thunder beat the Heat last night in basketball. Felt odd watching the 4th quarter without you but I knew that you were up to something far better. So proud of you – praying for you! – Dad

Hello Son-Or should I call you Mountain Man?! I wish I could see the countryside there. I hear it is beautiful. I miss seeing your face every day. This is my verse for you today. I’m praying that God will give you all you need to do his work. Jeremiah 17:18 “He will be like a tree that is planted near water. It sends out its roots beside a stream. It is not afraid when heat comes. Its leaves are always green.” God will sustain you when you are tired and hot. You only have a few days to make a BIG impact! I love you Micah!! Mom

  12. Terri says:

oops, that should be Jeremiah 17:8 🙂 ordered glasses yesterday! really!

We are proud of you – miss you – but again, knowing that you are up to Kingdom work with the team that you are on is something that is of great joy to us all. Do your best to keep Nick from the bees and the hospital in general. – Dad

Had to say a final goodbye to the children in the village we were building in. Very very very hard thing to do, teared up quite a bit when I had to say bye to Willie my new best little buddy! He would hum along with us while we sang even though he couldn’t understand or speak english! Got some pictures with him to remember him. Also very tough saying goodbye to a boy named Henry who is deaf and mute we vowed to raise money for him to get surgery in the states to help him hear. Gonna miss those kids like crazy.

  17. Kevin says:

They will miss u too Sir Micah, i know how you feel when you will miss someone like crazi, it’s the same feeling when I miss you and your brother and sisters! But remember you will see them in heaven one day! You are a true blessing! Jesus really loves the children that what Colton Burpo ounce said! Praying for you bro as i’m off to dream land! Love ya bro! -Kevin p.s. when are we going to go on a missons trip?? I want to go with you sometime! talk to ya tommorrow

Micah….loved your post. It is truly a wonderful experience. I remember when I was there with Andrew 2 years ago. He went and visited a family we built for and they remembered him. Just know that you may be gone, but those kids will remember you for a long time. What an awesome impact you are having! Keep spreading the Word, if not verbally, then through your Good Works! Although we are just getting to know you and your family, I don’t have to know you well to say that you are making us all proud. God Bless!

    Jim Crawley

  20. Micah,

Micah – may your Sunday be extremely blessed. We will miss you and the entire team for the Sunday we experience here. Again, what joy it brings to know you will be serving by taking medical supplies – engaging children in play – and sharing the good news of our Savior with the people in Guatemala. Believe in you so much and what God can do in and through you! – Dad

HAPPY FATHERS DAY! Pretty sad I couldn’t be there with you. I’ll buy you something at the market tomorrow….rhymes with confetti

  24. Sheldon Shaw says:

Micah, been praying for your time today at the medical clinic and Jesus film. Hope all went well! Thanks for teaming up with Sonya and putting in so much time and effort on the houses. You are doing great things that affect all eternity! Way to step out in faith, man. btw, I am unfamiliar with the Mooka Davey thing, but I suppose that is a term of endearment from early childhood?

  25. Erin says:

Mom says that your not supposed to bring dad home what rymes with confetti. (buy it anyway.) I miss you alot Mooka Davey. I can’t wait until you get home. When you get home you and Nick need to take me and Steph to the mall! I love you.

    Love your sister,

  26. Russ & Vicki Wierenga says:

Hey Micah! We just wanted to let you know we have been praying for you & thinking about you all week. We are sooooo looking forward to hearing about everything God has shown you! It sounds like you have having alot of fun too – that’s awesome! Something tells me that there maybe many of you fellas purchasing items that rhyme with “confetti” (which …very clever by the way 🙂 ) Please tell me none of their names end in Wierenga… ugh…they were discussing this BEFORE they even left for the trip. Enjoy every moment – we love all of you!!

  27. Lynn Albachten says:

Good morning everyone – The Lord is blessing the Allendale area with a much needed storm, rain, wind, thunder and lightening. Awesome!! Thinking and praying for all of you on your last day in paradise. So proud of everyone for taking God’s leading and sharing the love of Christ with so many wonderful and beautiful people in Guatemala. Thank you all for sharing little bits and pieces of your adventure. You have been such a blessing to all of us back in the states. The world has been a better place because of your trip, due to all of us praying for you and your trip. So many more prayers have been prayed in the last week than usual. Praise the Lord! Enjoy your day shopping and relaxing with friends and family. Hugs to you all! Can’t wait to hear all about your trip when you get home. Safety, health and love to you all! Be sure to keep your hearts and minds open to what God has in store for you all in many different ways. Heaven must be celebrating about all of the new followers from Guatemala. Thank you for your role in their new lives with Christ. We will continue to pray for Nancy that God will soften her heart and have the opportunity to welcome her into His mighty fold someday. Bless you all in mighty ways!!
Hugs – Mom, Mrs. A, Lynn

Micah, I hope your last day is fulfilling as you prepare to come home. Grandma and I will be coming to Michigan on June 30th and bringing with us the Lenards clan. Can’t wait to see you and hear about your missions trip. Be safe, love you.
    Grandpa Maness

  29. Alan Bosch says:

So, Micah, I’m curious as to what you brought home from Guatemala , that rhymes with confetti. Was it a box of Guatemala spaghetti, a 1/64 model of Indy car winner, Dario Franchitti, an autographed picture of Indy car driver Marco Andretti, or a 1963 football card of Baltimore Colts star Gino Marchetti? PLEASE , DON’T tell me it was something that begins with ma, and will be used to cut down the weeds for Jennifer’s new community garden!!!!!!!!!!!!
